This 26 year old with a large tumor on the right side of her face, presented with the hope of having surgery. We had a board certified Head and Neck surgeon who was willing to operate, but the hospital would not let us. When I broke the news to this young lady along with her younger sister, all three of us were crying. We could have helped but were not allowed to. I'm sure the 12 hour journey home seemed a lot longer than it was.
